FHS Title I Program

What is Title I?

A federally funded program that serves millions of children in elementary and secondary schools each year. Money is sent to school districts based on the number of low-income families (data derived from free and reduced lunch information). If a school within the district has at least forty percent of their students that are from low-income families, then the school is considered a school-wide Title I school and all students are eligible to benefit from the program. Fayetteville School is a school wide program and it includes the following components:

  • School wide reform strategies
  • Instruction by highly qualified teachers
  • Family-School Partnership Program
  • Additional support for students
  • Transition activities for students entering kindergarten

How does the school spend Title I funds?

  • Personnel
  • Class size reduction
  • Teacher trainings
  • Teaching materials and supplies
  • License fees for web-based programs
  • Parent input on the 1% set aside

How can I help my child?

  • Make sure you child gets to school on time every day.
  • Establish a homework routine.
  • Talk to your child's teacher regularly.
  • READ TO and WITH your child daily.
  • Have your child READ TO YOU.
  • Make learning FUN.
