Fayetteville School is one of 17 schools which compose the Talladega County School System. Fayetteville's total enrollment at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year was 700. The Fayetteville Wolves are a 2A school and our colors are Black and Gold. Fayetteville school educates students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Fayetteville is a Title I school which receives and utilizes funds for academic improvement.
Fayetteville High School is proud to have been named a 21st Century School. We are part of a technology initiative to equip teachers and students with the diverse technological skills needed to be successful in today's world.
Fayetteville School is located in the Lay Lake community of Fayetteville. It serves the Fayetteville community and the surrounding communities of Marble Valley and Talladega Springs. It is located in southwest Talladega County approximately 10 miles from the cities of Sylacauga and Childersburg.
A variety of extra-curricular activities are offered at Fayetteville. These include football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, golf, bass fishing, archery, bowling, baseball, and softball. Cheerleading teams cheer at football and basketball games. Clubs are also a part of the extra-curricular activities. Student Government Association (SGA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Key Club, Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Elementary Lighthouse Team and the Middle School and High School Student Ambassador Leadership Program are offered. Fayetteville school also advocates programs that are designed to promote student empowerment within their learning environment. These programs include The Leader in Me, Red Ribbon Week, and individual and group guidance sessions.
The Fayetteville faculty consists of a principal, an assistant principal, twenty-nine classroom teachers, a media specialist, a digital learning specialist, one full time counselor and one part time counselor, two physical education teachers, a nurse, two special education teachers, itinerant speech and gifted teachers, a band director, a career tech teacher, a Title I resource teacher, and a reading specialist. 100% of the faculty is highly qualified and 70% hold advanced degrees. There are 2 teachers that hold National Board Certification. The support staff consists of a secretary, a clerical assistant, an OSCAR aide, an ACCESS aide, two special education assistants, three custodians, five bus drivers, four lunchroom workers, and a lunchroom manager. The faculty and staff continue to grow professionally by attending workshops, graduate classes, seminars and various professional development activities.
